Passionate About Visakhapatnam's Future
A proud native of Visakhapatnam, Vamsi Pelluri is relocating back to India to be part of the city's incredible transformation into a global AI and technology powerhouse. Inspired by Sridhar Vembu, the visionary founder of Zoho who championed rural development and demonstrated that world-class technology companies can thrive outside major metros, Vamsi started this venture from Pinagadi village in Pendurti, a rural suburb of Visakhapatnam.
Having witnessed Visakhapatnam's potential from afar, Vamsi recognized the need for a centralized platform that could connect the thousands of opportunities emerging from the $15 billion Google investment and broader economic development with the talent and businesses ready to capitalize on them. But more importantly, he saw the untapped potential in rural areas surrounding Vizag—talented individuals who, with the right platform and opportunities, could contribute to India's AI revolution.
As an independent observer and inspirational leader, Vamsi draws wisdom from visionary leaders across India's political spectrum who have championed development, technology, and governance excellence. He is inspired by Atal Bihari Vajpayee's statesmanship, PV Narasimha Rao's economic liberalization, Narendra Modi's Digital India vision, Nara Chandrababu Naidu's pioneering work in tech-governance through APTS, Pawan Kalyan's commitment to people's welfare, and other leaders who have put nation-building above politics.
Vamsi's journey in technology was profoundly shaped by the era when CM Naidu established the Andhra Pradesh Technology Services (APTS) and made Hyderabad a global IT destination. This inspired his career as an IT presale technical consultant and his dream of spreading his wings abroad. Now, witnessing the continued vision for accessible governance—including Nara Lokesh's (Minister for HRD and IT) innovative WhatsApp Governance—Vamsi returns not as a political partisan, but as a development-focused leader committed to ensuring Visakhapatnam's transformation benefits everyone.
With a deep understanding of both technology and business development, he founded Visakha Data City to serve as the essential bridge between opportunity and action, ensuring that every stakeholder—regardless of background or affiliation—can participate in Visakhapatnam's journey to becoming a $120 billion economy by 2032.
"As someone who grew up in Visakhapatnam, I've always known our city had immense potential. But what's happening now—with Google's $15 billion investment, the vision for a $120 billion economy, and the creation of 30,000+ jobs—this is beyond anything we could have imagined even a few years ago."
"Inspired by Sridhar Vembu's vision of building from rural India, I'm starting this journey from Pinagadi village in Pendurti. If Zoho can build a global software company from Tenkasi, we can tap into the incredible talent in villages around Visakhapatnam and give them access to the AI revolution happening in their backyard."
"I am an independent observer inspired by great visionary leaders across India's political landscape—Atal Bihari Vajpayee, PV Narasimha Rao, Narendra Modi, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and others who have championed development over politics. My IT career was shaped by the APTS era, which showed me that technology could transform governance and lives. Now, I'm returning not as a political voice, but as an inspirational leader focused on bringing opportunities to everyone."
"Along with Visakha Data City, I'm building visakhachronicle.com to bring unbiased news and updates, and apgovernance.com to make governance accessible to everyone—inspired by leaders like Nara Lokesh (Minister for HRD and IT) who are advancing WhatsApp Governance. My mission is development, not politics. My loyalty is to Visakhapatnam's people, not any party."
"I'm returning home not just to witness this transformation, but to actively participate in it. Visakha Data City is my contribution to ensuring that this historic opportunity benefits as many people as possible—especially our local talent who deserve to be at the forefront of this revolution."
"Whether you're a fellow returnee, a local professional, a business owner, or an investor, I invite you to join us in building not just a platform, but a community dedicated to Visakhapatnam's success. Together, we'll ensure that 'G in Vizag' truly stands for Google—and for Growth, for our entire region."
